High Tide

At 10am I found a nice spot at the beach in the shade of a high wall. The tide was coming in, and it was very hot. The waves were great, and so were the clouds. My first "cloudscape" so to speak. In the photo you can see all the yummy impasto, especially in the whiteness of the clouds and waves! 8x10, oil on masonite. $300.

Um 10 Uhr morgens fand ich einen kleinen schattigen Platz am Strand. Wir hatten Flut und es war sehr sehr heiss. Mein erstes Gemaelde mit "Wolken-Portraits". 20x25cm.

Mural at Animal Shelter, Edgewater

I was commissioned by the Animal Shelter in Edgewater to produce some murals to brighten their walls and to hang their sponsor plaques under. Here is me painting this morning.

Das Tierheim in Edgewater beauftragte mich, ein paar Wandgemaelde in ihrem Foyer zu gestalten, die als "Ueberschrift" fuer Gedenktafeln ihrer Sponsoren dienen sollen. Hier bin ich heute morgen eifrig beim Malen.

Here is the finished mural. There are other banners throughout the shelter, but without any animals. What fun!

Hidden

This is another scene from the Barberville settlement. However, 10 minutes into painting we were driven away by a huge thunderstorm with torrential rain. I just finished it from memory and with some helpful critique of my friends at www.wetcanvas.com (best art forum in the world!!!). What intrigued me with this scene was the window peeking out of the shade, and the flowers/leaves in front of it in full sunlight. 8x10, oil on masonite. $300.

Here ist noch eine Szene von Barberville letzte Woche. Leider wurden wir von einem Riesen-Gewitter davongejagt und ich malte das Bild heute fertig aus dem Gedaechtnis und mit Hilfe meiner Freunde auf dem Kunst-Forum www.wetcanvas.com. Das Fenster, das im Schatten hinter den Sonnen-beleuchteten Pflanzen herausschaute, find ich sehr interessant und somit malenswert. 20x25cm.

Atlantic Coast Line, Barberville

At the Barberville Pioneer Settlement in Central Florida there is this old caboose with some miscellaneous railroad equipment. I met there with some fellow artists and we painted plein air, while a band was jammin' with banjo, washboard and other unique instruments. Nice atmosphere! 8x10, oil on masonite. The red in sunlight is pure cadmium red - yummy! $300.

In einem grossen Park in Barberville werden die alten Zeiten hergestellt mit Hufschmidt, Weberei und anderen 100-jaehrigen Lebensweisen. Mit zwei anderen Kuenstlerinnen fand ich diese alte Kombuese (Lokomotiv-Wagen), die toll im Sonnenschein aussah. Waehrend wir malten, spielte eine Banjo und Waschbrett Gruppe, toll! 20x25cm.
