Ormond Beach

House at the River 8"x10", oil on masonite

I painted with 2 other artists yesterday at Ames Park in Ormond Beach. It was very very hot and humid, but there was a breeze right by the river and we selected a shady spot. This is an old coquina house by the Halifax river, with many elegant palms in the adjoining park.

I used my regular limited palette of 3 colors plus white: Ultramarine blue, Burnt Sienna, and Cad. Yellow medium. Oh, and a touch of Naples Yellow. Okay, 4 colors...

Gestern malte ich mit 2 anderen Kuenstlern in Ormond Beach am Fluss. Es war sehr heiss und schwuel, doch zum Glueck fanden wir einen schattigen Platz zum Malen, und vom Fluss wehte eine schoene Brise zu uns. Dies ist ein altes Haus aus Coquina-Muscheln gebaut, mit vielen eleganten Palmen im benachbarten Park. Ich benutzte meine limitierte Palette mit 4 Farben plus Weiss.
